I installed this in my master bedroom when doing a master bath remodel. I mounted on an inside wall and routed the lineset inside the wall to the outside where my other condensors sit. The thing is super quiet with fan on slow and it helps keep our master BR at the right temperature for comfortable sleeping. I did purchase the recommended adapter for connecting a standard gauge set and it was necessary.
I pumped down the lineset and evaporator for about 30 minutes with valve core removed and did a pressure test with compressed air before evacuating again (with valve core installed), and charging the lineset with 410a as a final check before opening the service valves. I also bought a small bottle of nylog which I read is helpful to prevent slow leaks on the 4 flare type fittings that the lineset uses. This is an initial review following installation. Installation was easy and took about six hours with two people.I live in Michigan near Lake Huron.
I’m using the LETO 24000 BTU mini split in my man cave which is a detached building with a garage and a 700sqft finished living area. Temp outside is right around freezing when I installed the unit. Once up and running it heated the room quickly. I’m anxious to see my electric bill next month; running a space heater and portable AC increased my bill about $100 a month.
I’m hoping that will decrease. This listing could have been more helpful and should include a checklist of all items necessary for installation. While I understand it is recommended that an electrician and HVAC pro should install, it’s still nice to know what pieces are required. In addition to the mini split package I had to purchase. In one word, amazing. This unit was delivered exactly as described and much quicker than quoted. If you are not a fairly advanced handy person do not attempt to put this in your self.
The directions leave something to be desired. Overall this unit is extremely quiet, I didn’t think it was running at first.
The fit and finish of the machine is beautiful. The install took about eight hours for me, if you know what you’re doing it will be much quicker than that. I have never installed one of these units before. In New Hampshire we are in late spring right now, my house is about 650 ft.² and this 12,000 BTU unit cools this space without a problem. I look forward to the opportunity to really try the heating of this unit. At this point it has only been a test run but the heat.
I am extremely satisfied Senville’s 09HF/Z 9000 BTU mini-split unit. Based on the stats and features of the Mini-Split big boys (Mitsubishi, LG), the price, performance, features, warranty, and efficiency of Senville’s product offerings in this class are hard to beat. Once you push the ON button for the first time, you will be amazed at how quiet this unit can be — both the outside unit and the inside unit. I went for the Aura Series over the Leto Series mostly do the incredibly high-efficiency rating (25 SEER). Both series include a full installation kit including the copper line sets, remotes, mounting hardware (wall mounting), control cable, rubber mounting pads, tube wrapping tape, drainage tubing, etc.
You do have to supply a power feed of course. The instructions are broad, covering several models with the classic (your model may not have this feature). This product cost $1,400 dollars and worked for about 3 hours before the circuit board controlling the compressor stopped working.
Senville.s customer service was absolutely useless and failed to correct the problem. The technician was from some foreign country and was of no help.
According to other dissatisfied customer's reviews Senville products are horrible and an expense lesson to learn about dishonest business practices. Amazon should know that they are pedaling junk and their name will be associated with Senville. At the time of purchase, I was not aware that SoGoodToBuy is the official online distributor of Senville. I was a little apprehensive about buying an unknown company's air conditioner, but I want to reassure those of you reading this review that Senville has some of the best customer service I have ever experienced. The first unit I received had some issues, but Senville (Jim and Mike, you guys are awesome!) worked with me to get everything working.Something else of note about their customer service, whenever I did call them I was never on hold for longer than a couple of minutes.
I have called some of the larger companies, only to be on hold for over 45 minutes. All in all, I am extremely happy with the performance of the unit, but it was the customer service that won me over. Kudos Senville! Just finished the install for the 24kbtu version. Unit is running very well so far.
I've been very impressed with its quietness, but I did however go out of my way to make sure that any vibration from the outdoor unit was not transmitted to the structure by pouring a separate slab to mount it on. Installation was free of drama, the line set comes pre-flared, and sealed against contamination, so just make certain you use the flare sealant included before torquing the flare nuts and your main enemies, leaks and contamination won't show up. Moving the outdoor unit to its slab had me worried at first, but look up how to move a building on youtube, and you will see the Egyptian's had the art of moving heavy objects down. It was really easy, and I did not need any help.If you going to.
I just purchased and installed myself a Pioneer 30,000 btu Inverter/AC/heat pump kit from Parker Davis at my home. I did not purchase through Amazon as I wanted to deal directly with the manufacturer to glean the most info I could before making the purchase. As an avid DYI if figured I'd be able to handle the job myself after reviewing forums and YouTube clips on how to do the install. So to all those contemplating one of these units and thinking of tackling it yourself I wanted to give you some info that will hopefully help you as I had to do this by myself with no help from on site professionals. So here is the GOOD, the BAD, the UGLY.The GOOD–Customer service–Parker Davis:It's professional, courteous and prompt. All questions were responded to in a timely fashion and if info was needed a reply was furnished quickly. Of all the items I have ordered over the years from Amazon, this is by far the worst product I had purchased. Now let’s start from the beginning. I had purchased the Pioneer Minisplit Heatpump 24000 BTU -208/230.
The unit was delivered Jun 8th and was professionally installed on June 22nd.The unit operated as expected when installed (heating, Colling, fan, all worked). The unit was turned off on June 30th until July 6th as the family went on vacation.
Upon our return it was turned back on and still appeared to operate correctly until everything changed on July 9th when the unit displayed an E1 error code. After looking this code up and consulting with HVAC export, the E1 code is an “indoor/outdoor units communication error.” Outdoor unit fan nor compressor will turn on when in cooling or head mode. After inspection I had confirmed.
These are good air conditioners. If you are using for a grow or greenhouse have a professional install. If you are putting in a basement have a professional install. Yes you can mount them no problem but when it comes to flaring and draining you will run into some trouble. 50 ft copper coil total (both heads combine). The compressor has enough room for 4 heads. MINI splits do not recirculate air.
It does not pump out stale air and bring in new air. Simply takes the air from the room and cools down and dehumidifies. Also does have a heater. I just finished installing my Innovair 12,000 btu 110 v heat pump. All in all, I am very satisfied with it. It arrived in good shape, had all the parts I expected.
I was little concerned I might have a hard time physically putting the unit in (I'm 62), but both the indoor unit and the outdoor unit were actually pretty light. I had the electrical hookup pre-done so when the unit came, I just had to install it. My only mistake was trying to bend the copper line sets without a tubing bender. My recco: buy a 20$ tubing bender to avoid my problem. I ended up fracturing a line (mea culpa) and had to cut and remake a flare. The good news is, it was BEFORE discharging the refrigerant, so, other than the time and having to buy the. Research I did before buying: I read about several brands of mini splits.
In that period of review, I watched some YouTube videos. If you search for Ductlessaire on YouTube, there is a good looking guy named Toby installing these. I do not know if he works for Ductless or not, but he should get a commission for my purchase. His videos are the best available on YouTube. He is exceptionally knowledgeable, unassuming, and very well spoken.Country of Origin: China (most of the brands are made here, some with better components than others).Model: 12000 BTUETL Certified: YesEnergy Star: NoWarranty: Officially, there is no warranty if you are a DIY'er.
If a warranty is a must-have, buy a different brand if you will install this yourself. Otherwise use a licensed HVAC contractor if you want the warranty. If you buy all the necessary equipment, it is a simple and straight forward DIY project. Ended up costing approximately $2500 by the time it was installed. The extra cost will of course be distributed across each additional Ductless mini split system that you install.
So after installing five more units, the additional cost for each unit will only end up being around $200. I was quoted $28000 to do what I am doing myself for around $7000. Well worth the extra $$$ for the specialty tools and installation equipment. I figure I saved myself $11000 doing it myself. Extremely satisfied with this unit.
Of course temperatures in California are mild to begin with, but this one unit keeps the whole down stairs comfortable. Initially, it does appear however, that it is more expensive to heat the home with this unit. I replaced a 4-year old Frigidaire 22,000-btu window unit that was slowly dying with this 22000-btu LG window unit. It's been in 1 day and I've noticed 2 things, its almost twice as quite and cools a big room better. The mounting instructions were well put together and simple enough to follow.I'll come back with updates in a month, or sooner if any problems arise.Oct 2019 update, cooling season almost over and this ac unit has done a great job keeping our 500sq/ft apt. Cool.No problems yet and we've run it 24/7 for months.Energy Saver mode is effective for nights that cool off by morning. I've only had this unit for a month so I can't write about energy efficiency. I am very pleased with the little noise this makes. The unit is placed in a window near the tv and my wife would turn up the tv volume to high when my old conventional AC unit was running.
It drove me nuts. Now even with the fan speed at high it is still relatively quiet. The remote is quirky. Works sometimes and it seems if it is used the remote defaults to 69 degrees, too cold. I bought the extended warranty but I hope I don't have to use it.The hardware for the mounting of this large unit is too little by my assessment. I bought a $100 TOP SHELF TSB-2438 Air Conditioner Bracket but it relies on the ac unit to have a flat bottom which this unit does not have. It has a formed bottom for managing the condensate inside the unit.
So the ac unit sits kinda tilted leftright because the left leg of the bracket falls into a depression of the bottom pan of the ac unit.LG should make or spec out a suitable accessory support frame for those like me who wanted something more substantial than. I got the Mr. Cool made simple DIY 18,000 BTU Smart version. Item arrived 1 day sooner than expected (thanks FedEx!) and came in two very well packaged boxes/mini crates. I had watched a couple videos on the install and read through the comments from others. I had no real issues installing that were not of my own making.
I found my horizontal stud (pole barn) and used the template and mounting bracket without issues. Cut my inside hole with a jigsaw, then marked the outside metal in the center and drilled a small hole. That was my reference for my cutout on the outside metal wall. Again I cut out a 3 in circle with my jigsaw. I made sure things would tilted slightly downwards towards the outside to make sure no water ran back into the building. The YouTube video shows the installer sliding the bundle of pipes (the lineset) from the inside unit through the 3.5 hole to the outside unit, hooking up, and done. One set of pipes only.
The installation manual in Fig. 18 shows a cross section of that lineset. It has four parts: two refrigerant lines, a signal/power cable, and the condensate drain hose. However, the unit shipped to me in July 2019 has a different configuration in the lineset. There is no notice or warning to disregard the installation video and the diagram and instructions on Page 18.
The revised lineset contains only three elements: the two refrigerant pipes and the signal/power cable. The new lineset does not include the condensate drain hose. Not realizing this change, I unstalled the unit as per the YouTube and soon had it running. Except that in.
Those planning to install one of these in an old house with plaster 'balloon' walls should think twice, especially if the indoor unit will be on one floor and the outdoor condenser unit will be on another. I got it done with two helpers, but it took several weeks of 3-6 hour sessions, for a total of maybe 30 hours. NOT three hours - thirty.
That included the wiring, which was made more difficult (3 extra hours) by a shutoff switch with an internal short from the factory, so it wasn't the fault of the mini split, drilling through an old style plaster wall (the trick is to start outside and work in, use a plywood mounting plate inside, and to NOT buy a British hole saw) and through an asphalt and tin covered porch roof. What WAS the fault of the mini split was the tiny, tiny electrical connection. So far the order and shipping process has been beyond exceptional.
I've had the pleasure of dealing with Sara with regard to my order processing and shipping and she has been an absolute pleasure to deal with. I also cannot say enough about how seamless the interaction between my Amazon order and Senville (SoGoodToBuy) has been.
I'm absolutely blown away. I will update my review accordingly with information in regard to the actual product install and installed and functioning Tri-zone mini split system. So far I have to say again absolute best customer service experience ever. The Product is of excellent quality for the price. I have installed several Mini split units from more expensive lines and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this less expensive unit. Had one small issue with a missing non-essential part. Customer service responded immediately and the correct part was delivered in a few days.
A piece of advice for DIYers. While installation is pretty straight forward refrigerant piping and start up are critical. If you are not trained in this area HIRE A PROFESSIONAL!
I also recommend purchasing the Senville drain hose as the drain connection is metric and not easily adapted to USA piping. I highly recommend this product.
I decided to install the unit myself. Watched youtubes, read and felt it was going to be easy. Revolve. It was.One head in my weight rm/ studio. The other with a 25 ft line in the wood working/ hardwood flooring storage shop of 1,300 sq ft.
All of which I insulated well with vapor barrier.I did ask tech support a couple questions and was answered promptly. In the end I paid an HVAC company to vacuum the lines and release the refrigerant ( they test for leaks first ). $200.00 well spent.I am thus far pleased with everything. The unit needs to be professionally installed and they should expect to pay more for the install that for the product. I don’t see how anyone could say this was easy to install and requires and heating and air-conditioning professional to hook it up.
Cost $750 and a lo The unit needs to be professionally installed and they should expect to pay more for the install then for the product. I don’t see how anyone could say this was easy to install it requires and heating and air-conditioning professional to hook it up. Cost $750 by two different contractors. The least they could do would be to make it very clear that it’s not easy to install! I purchased this unit to cool/heat my insulated garage to keep a comfortable temperature when working or playing (ping pong) in the garage.
So far I’m impressed.Things you’ll need to purchase separately:. 3.5 inch hole saw and arbor. 25 amp 2 pole breaker (for 24,000 btu unit). Wire (10-2 with ground) to run from panel to disconnect. A/C disconnect. Hookup whip (10-3). Bolts to hold the outside unit to the concrete.(Optional) Decorative line coverI bought this line cover kit:Decorative PVC Line Cover Kit for Mini Split Air Conditioners and Heat Pumps is a bit of a tight fit, but it worked for me.This is the whip I purchased:connects the AC unit to the AC disconnect.I did the electrical work myself because I’ve had experience.
I’d recommend hiring a professional. They can supply the wire, disconnect, whip, and breaker (if they do supply them then you don’t need to. Purchased from Ingrams water and air, very happy with their service. I had many questions to them before and after my purchase and they were very quick and knowledgable with their answers. The system was shipped fast and very well packaged. This is promoted as DIY because you don't need an HVAC tech but you do need to know what you are doing to ensure a proper, safe install. Take your time and plan your installation well before starting, try and locate your air handler near the centre of the area you are heating/cooling to best distribute the conditioned air.
The unit heats very well but I need to use extra fans to transfer the heat around the house and I have it centrally located in a very open floor plan. Check over all your equipment before starting, my compressor had a loose quick connect fitting but it was discovered. Cools and heats my 1500sqft garage well so far. I installed this unit just as the fall started here so I haven't seen it in full houston mid-summer heat. However after fully insulating my garage walls and attic and installing this unit I've been very happy with the heating and cooling. Installation is incredibly simple if you are handy. Handy meaning you aren't afraid of cutting a hole in the side of your home, installing a 220V breaker in your panel, and running wiring from your panel to a disconnect box (same style of box as your normal home AC, wouldn't run it without it!) with an appropriately sized fuse and breaker. Those are the only tricky parts of this install.
If you can do that stuff, you can install this unit. You do not need an HVAC tech to do the install. That's what makes this unit worth it over. I’ve had this for 3 months now and so far it is great. I installed most of it myself and had a local hvac contractor make the final connections and checks so I could maintain the warranty. The hvac guy charged me $150 for his work so keep that in mind when pricing. The remote and WiFi app are a little sketch but I was able to keep tabs on my house for two weeks while out of town and turn it on and off. Some things I want to point out.
I purchased a 24k btu unit for a room that is 850 sq ft. When the outside air is 90 degrees I am able to kick this thing on 62 degrees with turbo fan setting and it will drop the room temp 1 degree every 15 min with no limit other than the set temp. That in itself is. These instructions are something to be admired. They are lengthy, yet incredibly non-specific. I'm not sure the person who wrote the instruction manual has ever assembled anything in their life. I watched several online videos of other units being installed and collectively used those tips.So far, the cooling of this unit has been up to snuff.
I'm cooling a 960 sqft shop with a 24k unit; ceiling is 12ft at the walls and 15ft at the center peak. I'm still trying to figure out the settings, but those really aren't as important as how quickly and easily it cools down the shop. As for wifi, I have no idea what's going on there as there is an empty USB port under the front lid.
I'm sure I'll have to pay something else to be able to control this from an app.I'd buy again,. Line set shipped with 5/8 nut instead of 3/4 needed for Senville 12000 btuAfter crawling under the house and finally set to tighten connecting fittings, surprise, need to cut tubing and flare.Ordered Senville 25 Ft. Copper Pipes for Mini Split Air Conditioner 1/4' & 3/8' White to attach to a Senville 12000 btu mini split and the people can't even supply proper accessories for their own products.I'm pi.ed, I have better things to do than play mail tag with parts the company knows damn well don't fitTo avoid using flaring tool you will need 1/2-Inch Female Flare by 3/8-Inch Male Flare Brass Adapter.Around $7 at ace hardware on ebay $7 to $22. I installed mine in a 30x40 pole barn w/ 12 foot ceilings. The install went fine, just awkward. Definitely need 3 people. Two to hang the mini split and one on the outside to help run the lines. On a 90+ degree day, it will freeze you out if needed.
Will have to wait until it's cooler to review the heating portion. Now for the reason I did not give it 5 stars.1. Drain pipe is critical to run for mini split. Always must run downhill (of course) but hard to pull off because of how awkward it is to hang and keep the lines perfect.2. Drain pipe for heat pump has an elbow that will not clear the pad even with the supplied vibration dampers under the feet. Had add shims to elevate the heat pump to allow for more clearance.3. Have had the 36kbtu unit for a year and a half now with nothing but issues.
Drain pipe clogs constantly with no good route to take from the back of the unit. Thermostat readings are way off, mobile app is practically useless.Mr Cool doesn’t service in my area so every time these issues happen I have to call an hvac tech to come address the problem, costing me more money to pay them. Now my unit says it’s 60 degrees in my room when in fact it’s 95. Will not cool anymore and little help from mr cool support. The heatpump works great and has no issue cooling a loft office over a shop approx 300sq ft in Alabama's extremely hot humid august.
It is extremely quite inside and outside units. I received the system and there was a baseball sized dent in the fan side of the outside unit. I have emailed the seller and i will modify the review based on how they respond. Update: they responded in a timely manner and adressed the situation approriately. I will revisit this review at 6mos and then again in a year to update the performance through all 4 seasons.
After a little over a month of using this unit I'm verry pleased with it. Intall was easy, wires are labeled and match the wiring schematic on the cover. Install was a few hours. I have a vacuum pump I use for automotive use and ordered the adapter to fit the mini split.
Pulled a vacuum and released the coolant. It blows cold and pulls out the Florida humidity. Very quiet unit both inside and outside units. There are additional features that are on the remote that would be great to have but are not included in this unit. I am very happy with my purchase. Just installed the OLMO, 12,000 BTU.115 voltage.was installed by professionals.the installation went well.took about 3 hours. The unit is super quiet.on low speed cannot hear it at all.
Had it installed in my bedroom suite with the AC unit outside on cement bricks. Wanted a second AC so it would not be necessary to cool the whole house for just one room.also would be more economical instead of firing up a 5 ton unit. Very happy with the quality and efficiency.Decided to go with this unit since it used copper pipes and the condenser was manufactured by Toshiba with a 5 year warranty. I peeled off the OLMO decal so the unit would blend in more with the house. It is cold now.so using it for heat as it is a 'heat pump' energy source.very happy with the unit. This unit is Amazing, I have no complaints. It was very easy to install.
I would recommend if you have no experience in this stuff do you have an air conditioning professional complete installation, but with time and patience anybody could install it. The only problem I had was not with the unit or the seller it was when it was delivered the gentleman just dropped it out of the delivery van.
He also left it sitting on its side when is clearly marked which side is up and says it must be set right side up. We used this product to air condition the garage. It works really really well and is very quiet. Cools our garage down to 70 pretty quickly even though it's 98 outside. It was pretty difficult to install and the warranty is no good on the product unless you have it installed by a licensed HVAC person. I do highly recommend the product but suggest it if you know someone in HVAC. My warranty is no good because we did it ourself.
Hopefully it continues to work as well as it has been. Also, I couldn't find this information anywhere, but it does come precharged. Instructions where horrible. Ended up watching several how to videos online and figuring out how to install pretty much on our own. It was missing the QR code for the app in order to use your phone as a remote and use Elexa. Otherwise once we figured out how to install it it went fairly easy. There was some added wiring that had to be done and had to purchase two electrical whips and wire bundles to connect outdoor unit to the main breaker box.
Also had to purchase a double pull 15 amp breaker and exterior kill switch to keep it up to code. Unit is extremely quiet and so far other than the app issue we are pleased. I recommend purchasing better tape to wrap all the wires, copper freon tubing and drain tube. The tape it comes with is not adhesive and makes it difficult to get.
